Excellent list, however I think you missed out on one country.
These are all Swedish ships. The Chapman that the plans are referring to is this Chapman: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fredrik_Henrik_af_Chapman (Should be read with a grain of salt)

      Actually, they aren't.

      35. Mignone' Indiaman = Engelsk Ost-Indiefarare (Ritn N:1) English East Indiaman
      44. Dromedary' Indiaman = Chapmans plans, Plate 52 #2 English West India Trader
      46. Hermes' Packet-Boat = Chapmans plans, plate 41 #1
      50. van Hoorn' Snow =Chapman, plate XIII No. 17
      67. Hiorten' Galeas = several plans from F. Chapmans
      71. Fishing Smack = Chapman LIX #3 an English Smack for Flattfish

I can't recall the origins of the other ships, and Chapman didn't explicitly mention them on his plates either, but i'm pretty confident that leadtail is correct. Ah, by the way, the information is from http://www.sjohistoriska.se/en/Colle...es/ChapmanNet/.

Sorry about that, you are right, I was a bit careless and quick in pointing that out.

          45. Lexington' Brig = Lexington 1776 British

          should read
          45. Lexington' Brig = USS Lexington 1776 U.S.

This is one of the original Akella models still ingame and one of the few out of period models originally designed to show off the game engine.

Also you are missing the Turtle ship, based on a chinese ship and originally used to show off the game to the Asian market then co-opted as the dev boat.

            HMS Prince

The ship was launched 1670 in Chatham as a 1st rate with 100 cannon. She was designed by Phineas Pett, a relative of the Phineas Pett who built the famous Sovereign of the Seas in 1637. She took part in the Battle of Solebay 1672 during the Third Anglo-Dutch War.

Is it just me, or does the Lexington model seem to ride too high in the water? It often looks like it's sitting on top of the sea, rather than floating in it.

The Hercules rides high too, but not as noticeably.
