Loot Management and Potential Income supplements: Don't Junk it all!!!

There is more to the loot that you gain from missions and fleeting (open sea fights with npc fleets). That seemingly useless loot that is collected is useful and highly sought after by Veteran players.
The age-old practice of dumping loot at the junk dealer for super low rates is robbing yourself of much needed income opportunities. Several different loot items are able to be turned at the junk dealer for different drinks that give a player ship bonuses, and avcom bonuses.
I won't go into each loot items particular trade-in. I will point out a few that are in high demand. Meaning that they will provide you much more doubloons than what the junk dealer provides.

Goblets: Gold/Silver Goblets are highly sought after, as they can be turned in at a select few port's (via Junk Dealer) for a ship's morale bonus drink.

Plaques: Jade [common], Silver [not as common], Gold [not as common] are highly sought after, as they can be turned in at a select few port's (via Junk Dealer) for a ship's gun-damage drink

The following isn't traditional loot.

Treasure Chests: Used in conjunction with the Treasure Aisle's (TA) chest keys to potentially obtain many lucrative (and not so lucrative) items, such as ships, pieces of eight, and various consumables.
Depending on your interests in the game, you can choose to keep these for yourself or you can choose to put them up on the Auctionhouse (AH) for decent income.
Industrialists Shipping Crates: Are very similar to the Treasure Chests. With both of these take the time to see recent prices on the AH and price accordingly.

Derelict collection:
It is proving to be worth your time to take the extra few minutes to collect those derelicts in the missions and fleets! They provide commendations.
Commendations worthy of note: Royals, Honor, and Skill. All are worth a great deal to you and/or other players. If you choose not to keep them, they are great income generators at the Auction-houses.

Royal Commendations are used in the process of certifying many different Rate ships of the line and high-end frigates.

Honor Commendations are used for various turn-ins at the Capital port's career offices. Most notably at the time of this writing, are Gold Ingots with a 15:15 turn-in ratio

Skill Commendations are used for various turn-ins at the Capital port's career offices. Most notably at the time of this writing, are Silver Ingots with a 15:15 turn-in ratio.

“Our government has kept us in a perpetual state of fear - kept us in a continuous stampede of patriotic fervor - with the cry of grave national emergency. Always there has been some terrible evil at home or some monstrous foreign power that was going to gobble us up if we did not blindly rally behind it by furnishing the exorbitant funds demanded. Yet, in retrospect, these disasters seem never to have happened, seem never to have been quite real.” - General Douglas MacArthur

  • Add Madonna's, stone, silver, and gold. Also pearl pendants and pouches to the list.

Also fish you catch. These too have value.
